AFAIK it's got to be there if you have multi-boot options. The boot.ini should reside in the root of the system drive and it's a hidden system file. Explorer|Tools|Folder Options|View, then radio button for "Show hidden files and folders", then uncheck the box for "Hide protected operating system files" -- Regards,

Editing boot.ini won't delete any files left over from the failed install. To recover multi-megabytes of disk space, you may need to delete that folder (probably \Windows if you upgraded from Win98 or \WinNT for a clean install). Just be sure not to delete your good \WinNT folder, which may be called something like
