how clean boot ini

How to Clean boot.ini

Have removed Vista after 3 failed installs and was wonder how I remove the additional entries in the boot.ini, it's says to use BCDEDIT.exe

You should be able to just open it in notepad, and just remove the non XP (if that was your previous OS) stuff. Just make sure you remove the boot folder from your legacy OS drive (it's a hidden directory).

Nevermind, I used the Recovery Console and FIXBOOT to sort it out

Hi, Clayton.
FixBoot is one way. The way provided in Vista is to use fixntfs -xp (or fixfat -xp if you are using FAT for your System Partition).
In either case, some of Vista's BCD files will be left hanging around and you can delete them if you like. They will be ignored, since NTLDR and Boot.ini know nothing of those files - or of Vista.
